Let us make the magical quirky creature, Totoro [トトロ] who represents the spirit of forest.

Totoro is a popular Japanese character who was first featured in the movie Tonari no Totoro [My neighbor Totoro]. A product of Hayao Miyazaki's imagination Totoro later on became the logo of studio Ghibli. The magical creature kind of resembles a wild bear and represents the spirit of the forest.
In this blog, we will learn how to make Totoro with paper!
1. Start with a colorful sheet of paper, which is square in shape.
2. Fold the square into a triangle as shown below.

3. Now we have an isosceles triangle, say ABC.

4. Take point C and join it to the middle of line AB.

5. Take point B and join it to the middle of line AC. You will have the following structure now:

Press hard.
👉 You do not have to be 100% perfect, as long you're enjoying the process, it all makes sense.
6. Hold the point A and bend it backwards to show the white part of Totoro's body.

7. Repeat [step 6] on the other side, and you will something as follows:
8. Take the tip of the white triangle and bend it backwards, so as to form Totoro's stomach.

9. Now take the bottom and bend backwards on each side so as to make Totoro's legs.

This will shift center of mass backwards and will help the structure, that is Totoro, stand on its own.
10. Now draw Totoro's face as shown.

11. Using a pair of scissors, cut off the top part to form Totoro's long ears. The final product is ready. Now you can make as many Totoro and in as many colors as you want.
